Experience & Activities

Mr. Safiel T. Chambua is an Assistant Lecturer at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Tanzania. He holds a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from NM-AIST and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from St. Joseph University in Tanzania.

His academic and research work focuses on structural engineering, material science, and the development of sustainable construction materials. He has conducted research on the use of natural materials such as pumice and scoria in concrete to improve durability in harsh environments. Mr. Chambua is also involved in teaching and mentoring students in material and structural engineering fields.

He is a registered engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania and actively contributes to the Materials Research Group under the MEWES thematic area at NM-AIST.
