Experience & Activities

Ms. Theresia Kimario is a Tanzanian environmental scientist currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Namur in Belgium. Her research focuses on how environmental stressors such as chemical pollution, artificial light, and rising temperatures affect fish behaviour and wellbeing. Using species like killifish and guppies, she investigates these impacts to support conservation and sustainable aquaculture. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science with a specialization in toxicology from the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology in Tanzania. Ms. Kimario’s work contributes to understanding and mitigating the effects of human-driven environmental changes on aquatic ecosystems.
