Nelson Mandela institution staff urged to cooperate in addressing challenges

Chairman of the Council of the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology, Hon. Ambassador Maimuna Kibenga Tarishi, has urged the institution’s staff to collaborate and align their efforts with the institution’s vision and mission. This call for cooperation aims to leverage available opportunities to address various challenges effectively.
Hon. Ambassador Maimuna made this statement on July 30, 2024, during her first visit since being appointed by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania on May 15, 2024.
“This institution is unique, and it is crucial to highlight its foundational importance. We have an opportunity to enhance its distinctiveness and make its value more evident,” said Hon. Ambassador Maimuna.


“For a female student to advance, it is essential that she is fully engaged in science, technology, and innovation,” emphasized Hon. Ambassador Maimuna.
During her visit, Ambassador Maimuna received a comprehensive briefing about the institution from Vice Chancellor Prof. Maulilio Kipanyula. She also toured various facilities, including the Digital Education Centre (C-CoDE), Library, Laboratory, ICT Centre (HPC), Incubation Centre, Small Factory (DDI), and the Student Hostel Construction Project.
The Chancellor of the Institution, Mr. Omari Issa, welcomed the Chairman via Zoom from Washington, USA, and expressed commitment to supporting the institution’s vision and mission to ensure its success.
