
Arusha, Tanzania – The Polish Ambassador to Tanzania, His Excellency Sergiusz Grzesiak, has visited the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) to explore partnerships in biodiversity, climate change, digitalization, agriculture, and environmental research.
Accompanied by senior representatives from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences — Prof. Marta Mendel, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, and Prof. Wiesław Ptach — Ambassador Grzesiak toured NM-AIST’s research and innovation facilities, including advanced IT laboratories, the state-of-the-art C-CODE data processing center, and NM-AIST FM Radio.

Welcoming the delegation, NM-AIST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Maulilio Kipanyula emphasized the significance of the visit, noting that it opened new avenues for knowledge exchange and joint initiatives to address pressing social and industrial challenges.
Prof. Mendel commended NM-AIST’s research capacity and highlighted education, research, and innovation as the initial areas of collaboration. She also underscored the potential for academic exchange programs between the two institutions to advance sustainable development goals.
The visit signals a promising step toward strengthened international cooperation, with both institutions committed to fostering joint research, innovation, and knowledge transfer to benefit Tanzania, Poland, and the wider global community.
