participated in the IV Tanzania-Italy Business and Investment Forum held from
February 11th to 12th, 2025, at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre
in Dar es Salaam. The event’s theme was “Strengthening Italy-Tanzania Bilateral
Trade Relations.”
During the visit to the NM-AIST booth, the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E.
Giuseppe Sean Coppola, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Kipanyula for his
participation. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration for mutual
growth and the creation of opportunities.
“I am inspired by what the institution is doing by encouraging academicians to
focus on the challenges faced by society and industry, aiming to create innovations
that address these issues. We look forward to exploring further cooperation,” said
Hon. Coppola.
In response, Vice Chancellor Prof. Maulilio Kipanyula thanked Hon. Coppola for
the invitation and the cooperation that opened a platform for NM-AIST innovators
to showcase their work. He noted that this forum allowed innovators to present
their ideas to a global audience.
NM-AIST’s Director of Research and Innovation, Prof. Thomas Kivevele,
emphasized the importance of the institution’s participation in such forums. He
highlighted the value of networking, investment opportunities, and collaboration
with key stakeholders. Prof. Kivevele also stressed that innovation should aim to
benefit both society and industry.

presenting their innovative ideas and demonstrating how these solutions can
address both industrial and societal challenges.
