The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) continue to excel not only in academics and innovation, but also in sports.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Maulilio Kipanyula, has congratulated NM-AIST students who participated in the TUSA 2025 Competitions for their outstanding performance. He highlighted the vital role of sports in promoting physical and mental well-being, while also strengthening unity and teamwork among students.
Prof. Kipanyula made these remarks on 29 January 2026, while receiving trophies and medals earned during the competition.

He further commended both students and staff for their active engagement in fitness activities such as jogging and aerobics, noting that regular exercise contributes to reducing non-communicable diseases and enhancing productivity.
The Director of Student Services, Ms. Analyce Ichwekeleza, provided a brief overview of the event, which took place from 16 to 23 December 2025 at the University of Dodoma.
NM-AIST competed in volleyball, swimming, and athletics, achieving remarkable success by winning two swimming trophies and securing five medals.
