The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) has been recognized in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, emerging as the only University in Tanzania to qualify for this international sustainability assessment.
In the 2025 rankings, NM-AIST is placed 64th in Africa out of 97 Universities and 1,363rd globally out of 1,741 Universities worldwide.
