On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, the Dean of the School of Computational and Communication Engineering, Dr. Judith Leo, congratulated the newly elected Student Organization leaders and commended them for earning the trust of their peers. She noted that their democratic election reflects their vision, integrity, and readiness to serve — values she urged them to uphold throughout their leadership journey.
Dr. Leo emphasized that students are the heart of the institution, reminding the leaders that they now carry the responsibility of representing the student body. She outlined three key roles expected of them:
Acting as spokespersons for students, representing students in committees such as the School Boards, Senate, and Council, and Supporting the administration in ensuring adherence to rules while advocating for student welfare.

She cautioned that leadership is a privilege and not always an easy path. Challenges may arise, but she expressed confidence in their ability to handle them with wisdom, professionalism, and without resorting to mass actions such as strikes or boycotts. As student representatives, she added, they must embody ethical behaviour and serve as ambassadors for NM-AIST and Tanzania whenever they travel nationally or internationally.
Dr. Leo called on all students to support their newly elected leaders and assured them that the offices of the Vice Chancellor and Deputies are fully committed to working with them through proper communication channels, coordinated by Ms. Analyce Ichwekeleza and her team. She concluded by wishing the leaders a successful one-year tenure: “Lead with integrity, serve with passion, and inspire with action.”

Newly elected NM-AIST Student Organization President Mr. David Kitomary expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and his team. He described the moment as not just a personal milestone but a collective achievement made possible by the students’ confidence in their leadership.
“You have entrusted us with great responsibility, and I promise to uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and commitment as we work together to advance the welfare of every scholar across both the main campus and Bagamoyo campus,” he said.
Mr. Kitomary emphasized that leadership is a collective effort, calling on all students to walk the journey with the new administration. “I cannot deliver alone,” he stressed. “With your cooperation, ideas, and unity, we can build a student community that is stronger, more inclusive, and more impactful. Let us begin this new chapter with a shared purpose: to serve, to innovate, and to elevate NM-AIST to greater heights.”

Director of Student Services, Ms. Analyce Ichwekeleza, urged the new leaders to lead with compassion, remain genuine in their processes, build stronger relationships with their peers, and serve as a source of inspiration. She encouraged them to prioritize student welfare and ensure the new chapter reflects positive ideas and aspirations.
