
On November 29, 2024, the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) welcomed the 17th delegation from the University of South Africa (UNISA) College of Graduate Studies.
The delegation, led by Prof. Tennyson Mgutshini, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies at UNISA, visited NM-AIST with the goal of fostering knowledge exchange and exploring potential collaboration opportunities between the two institutions to advance education across Africa.
During the visit, Prof. Anthony Mshandete, NM-AIST’s Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic, Research, and Innovation, presented an overview of the institute’s operations, highlighting areas where collaboration could be mutually beneficial.
Prof. Mgutshini, in turn, shared insights about UNISA’s operations and expressed enthusiasm for the fruitful discussions, emphasizing the potential for future cooperation between the institutions.

The UNISA delegation also had the chance to engage with NM-AIST’s academic and administrative staff, which led to in-depth conversations and a better understanding of shared activities and interests. This visit marked a significant step toward strengthening academic ties and creating opportunities for joint initiatives between the two prestigious parts.
