Nelson Mandela Lecturers Honored for Research Excellence

In a ceremony marking the conclusion of the National Education, Skills, and Innovation Week on May 31, 2024, in Tanga, the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa, lauded the exemplary achievements of four distinguished lecturers from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. Professors Karoli Njau, Joram Buza, Anael Nkya, and Emanuel Mpolya were awarded certificates for their outstanding contributions to academia, specifically for their publications in esteemed international journals.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Nelson Mandela Institution of Science and Technology for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and their steadfast resolve to tackle societal challenges through pioneering research and innovative solutions, which play a pivotal role in fostering economic growth,” remarked Prime Minister Hon. Kassim Majaliwa.
In a commendation of the institution’s remarkable efforts, Prof. Lughano Kusiluka, Vice Chairman of the Institution Council, applauded the management’s dedication to nurturing academic talent that significantly contributes to societal progress. He urged the Directorate of Research and Innovation to continue its pivotal role in facilitating the transition of groundbreaking innovations into the market sphere.
Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Maulilio Kipanyula, Vice Chancellor of the Institution, urged innovators within the institution to ensure that their creations reach the market, thereby maximizing societal benefit beyond the realm of academic exhibitions.
The National Education, Skills, and Innovation Week served as a platform for the convergence of three pivotal exhibitions: Innovation (MAKISATU), Technical Exhibitions and Vocational Training, and Higher Education exhibitions in Science and Technology TCU. Spanning from May 25 to May 31, 2024, the event, held at the grounds of Popatlal Tanga Secondary School, showcased the collective efforts of educational institutions across the nation in advancing knowledge and fostering innovation for the betterment of society.
