The Official Visit of Korean Delegates at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology on 23rd August ,2024.

The purpose of the visit was to make follow-up on the completed project of Innovative, Technology and Energy Center (iTEC) which lasted for four years from 2017 to 2021.

The aim of the visit was to get feedback on the success stories of the project to see possibility of engaging into more projects for sustainable development.

Mr. Herd Rhee Managing Director of iTEC presented a report on the iTEC project implementation on in arusha Tanzania on what it offered to the society during running of the project in the Country.

The discussion ended with the way forward to collaborate with iTEC in utilize NM-AIST High Performance Computing Centers capability, participate in upcoming projects/opportunities, academic and research collaboration with Korean Universities /institutions, host KOICA/NRF volunteers and advisors, capacity building of students and teaching staff and project co-development potential.

In addition, the two parts are looking forward to collaborate in water resource management for drinking and irrigation, rain water, floods, waste water, scale up of solar plants and other accomplishment and long-term projects toward techno park establishment.

 

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Maulilio Kipanyula emphasizes on enhancing local capacity on techno park for future development in taking the NM-AIST to the next level.

On his side Prof. Only Jeon explained that they visit to get insight from NM-AIST so as to get their experience on project investment.
