  • Minister for Communication and Transportation : NM-AIST Student Organization
  • Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement practical communications activities, strategies & work
    • Plans, campaigns, events, and other initiatives for the NM-AIST Student organization (NM-AIST SO), internal and external customers, and stakeholders.
    • Write and optimize content for the NM-AIST Student organization website page, digital newsletters, print publications, and social networking sites (WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram).
    • Ensure consistency in voice, branding, messaging, and frequency of posting via digital channels.
    • Handle media inquiries and create effective news releases to gain positive press coverage
    • Develop and deliver well-executed and effective campaigns
    • Media activities such as photography and videos for the NM-AIST SO
    • Disseminate the NM-AIST SO feedback forms to students and stakeholders, and report on follow-up activities.
    • Prepare and manage the NM-AIST SO’s communication budget.
    • Facilitate transport logistics together with the welfare office for the NM-AIST SO activities
    • Perform other duties required to support the NM-AIST SO, including maintaining organization Continuity.

Originally from Kenya, Elvira is a second-year graduate student pursuing an MSc in Embedded and Mobile Systems on the CENIT@EA scholarship at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST). Elvira has professional experience in EdTech as a software engineer, learning technology specialist, and research and development. She plays tennis, chess, swimming, and reads. She enjoys blogging on medium.com, promoting green ecosystems and is passionate about empowering first-generation STEM students.
