Dr. Sauli is currently working as a lecturer and researcher (since 2016) at the Nelson Mandela African Institution
of Science and Technology-Arusha (NM-AIST), teaching Non-Communicable Diseases and Special
topics in Global Health. Dr. Sauli’s expertise comes from his basic medical background education, with
specialty training and expertise in Biomedicine. He previously worked as Senior Research Officer at
Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC), before joining NM-AIST.
Dr. Sauli did his PhD at
Southeast University (China) and acquired his Master’s Degree in Biomedicine from Linkoping
University (Sweden). He also holds Bachelor Degree in Medicine from St. Petersburg State Pavlov
Medical University (Russia). His research work is mainly on molecular epidemiology of cancer and other
NCDs, focusing on biomarkers detection techniques. Dr. Sauli has authored and co-authored more than
30 articles in peer reviewed International Journals, as can be accessed in the Google scholar link above.
