The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICDL Africa to collaborate in establishing the National Centre of excellence in ICT in education (NCEITE) at NM-AIST and ICT in Education digital skills need assessment database for the education sector in Secondary, Vocational, Professional and tertiary education institution.

The signing Ceremony took place at NM-AIST Board Room on 2nd September, 2022 whereby both parties will cooperate in facilitating the implementation of ICT in education training across the country in the education sector.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Emmanuel Luoga said that the Memorandum of Understanding will collaborate to achieve the desired objective through the provision of training to various educational sectors to ensure the correct use of ICT.

He added that the NM-AIST will provide trainers for ICT in education programme trainings and coordinate the National Centre of Excellence for ICT in Education (NCEITE) which will be operating within the Institution.

Country Manager of ICDL AFRICA in Tanzania Mr. Peter Maina said that will cooperate with NM-AIST to provide ongoing project support by providing training in ICT for betterment of the society.

“The use of technology has increased recently with this MoU will ensure the correct use of ICT through training and mentorship”
