The Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project has reached 74.3 percent of its national implementation target, according to the National Project Coordinator, Dr. Kenneth Hosea.
Dr. Hosea shared the progress during the opening of a strategic meeting for project coordinators at the University of Dar es Salaam Library Hall. The session, organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, brought together coordinators from across the country to assess progress and strengthen implementation plans.

He said the milestone reflects the strong commitment of the Sixth Phase Government, under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, to advance the higher education sector. He urged institutions to sustain the momentum to ensure timely completion and deliver benefits to Tanzanian communities.
At the same meeting, Mr. Daniel Fissoo, Deputy HEET Project Coordinator at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), presented the institution’s progress report. The report highlighted achievements in staff training and the development of a sustainable project plan.
The HEET Project is expected to be fully completed by mid-2026.
