The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, through the Student Welfare Department, organized a two-day induction course on 29th and 30th May 2024 for student organizations to enhance their leadership skills.
During the workshop’s opening, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Planning, Finance, and Administration emphasized the importance of leading by example and practicing good governance for positive results.
“The opportunity to lead by example and understand those you lead is invaluable,” said the Deputy Vice Chancellor.
The Director of the Welfare Department also encouraged students to apply what they learned for good governance.
The two-day workshop, sponsored by the HEET project, aimed to build the capacity of student leaders. Topics covered included mental health, gender, sexual harassment, leadership, financial management, sign language, and inclusive education.
