Hon. Omary Juma Kipanga, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, underscored the importance of prioritizing health and mental well-being within the institution, by creating supportive environment and effective stress management strategies to ensure that operational efficiency, decision-making, and long-term goals of the Institution remain unaffected. Hon. Kipanga made these remarks on June 29, 2024, during the official opening if a two-day Management training session at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, organized by Higher Education for Economic Transformation Project (HEET). “I am thankful to the Ministry and the institution’s leadership for recognizing the significance of this training for our management team and ensuring its timely implementation,” said Hon. Kipanga.In his address, Prof. Maulilio Kipanyula, Vice Chancellor of the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, highlighted that the training is aligned with the HEET project’s objectives. It aims to equip participants with skills to identify and support individuals with special needs, address mental health issues, and manage gender-based violence, thereby enhancing stakeholder service delivery.

The HEET project specifically focuses on gender issues, including the formulation of a Gender Policy and the establishment of a Gender Desk. It also incorporates the Government’s e-Feedback system to facilitate effective communication for receiving and addressing complaints, compliments, and suggestions.
